Let It Be Today

We’re one day away from our dreams
We’re one day away from what we wish to achieve
What if one day was today
What if now was after what holds us back

One day I’ll release your judgements against me
One day I’ll release my fears that they are right
One day I’ll see the slights as impersonal
One day I’ll release the need to win the fight
One day I’ll see my only adversary has been me

One day separates us
One day I’ll be beautiful
One day we’ll get together
One day I’ll show you who I am
One day we’ll be lovers
In the true sense of the word

Someone who loves for no reason
Someone who gives with no thought of receiving
Someone who just is
Not a replay of the past
Not a forecast of the future
Not someday but when one day is today
Let it be today

We dance to reasons and excuses as to why today is not one day
Waltzing away time, tango with tomorrow but no music played today

One day I’ll find peace
One day from fear I’ll be released
One day I’ll let myself heal
One day I’ll let go and be whole
In the true sense of the word

Someone who reveals all of me unafraid of what the world may see
Someone who loves with no fear
No judgements cast in the tears of the past
Someday I’ll be someone who loves me completely
Someday I’ll be that someone who meets one day
Let it be today

One day I’ll give myself the gifts
So I may pass them on to you
One day I’ll find acceptance
One day of self remembrance
One day I’ll let myself be fulfilled
One day I’ll find love is unconditional
And I’ll give it all to you
One day I’ll be that someone who’ll let it be today
