Perfections Quest
So many, so lonely, longing to be loved
In the line-up for cupid they’ve pushed and they’ve shoved
Wanting the passion, wanting the fire
Longing to meet our hearts deep desire
We browse through some people we’re quick to reject
We haven’t the time, we’re on perfections quest
Desperately trying to make a connection
Yet so afraid of our advance’s rejection
Maybe we’ll talk, maybe we’ll meet
Maybe you’re real, maybe you’re a cheat
What if we like them, what if we don’t
Maybe we’ll fall in love again, maybe we won’t
What if we succeed and find shared attraction
We’re afraid of more of the same after the passion
The cold nights of wishing we were alone
Hurt by the ones we love in our own homes
Tears of sorrow from the heart
As all our dreams are torn apart
A hole in our hearts as we watch love go
Why did love turn away, what didn’t we know

Ignorant fools we seek it again
Hoping this time will be different from then
