Return Me

To come back to me
How do I reclaim myself
Not just lost but given away
And you took it, you took it all

I sent you my heart
I gave you a hand
I lent you an ear
But most of all I gave you my word

I gave it away but it feels like theft
As I sit on the cold stone floor with what is left
Empty rooms and barren walls
Nothing here, nothing at all

I could come in the night and take it all back
But you’d think I’m ugly, you’d think I don’t care
So here I stay frozen in my tracks
Wondering how I created a life so unfair

Now that you’ve taken all I am
Have my back, there’s nothing left to steal
As I stumble and fall
Return me so I can heal
