I ran away to think and write
To talk to my heart to talk to my soul
To understand to finally know
But neither one wants to let you go

Romeo and Juliet had nothing compared to us
A summers day each day we made
No-one stood in our way except ourselves
So sad I am to see our love placed back upon the shelves

You truly are my heart’s desire
My best friend, my lover, my soul mate through time
I don’t know why you became the liar
And broke this heart of mine

I never imagined we could be over
Never thought I’d have to let you go
Never believed once again I’d uncover
The picture of me on my own

So perfect we were for each other
Makes it so hard for me to let you be free
But the traps you laid with lies to discover
Make me think you never saw what I did see

To me it was special for me it was sacred
Better than anything anyone had
In true love I have been cheated
A Romeo and Juliet gone mad

So I set you free, free to fly
My heart does break with the choice I make
Should you return with a love that’s true
Then sacred vows may I make with you

How I’ve mourned how I’ve wept
I wish for Romeo and Juliet
To wash away this pain
To be whole once again
