Alone again from the inside out
The hermit walks among the graves
To see the living dead blissfully unaware
As they scurry to and fro and bolt into their caves
To live, to learn, to see
The hunger follows me
To open their eyes to the endless skies
To unfurl their wings and try
Perhaps to soar not just fly
But the doors are closed, the cup is full
The endless paths so beautiful
But the hermit walks them all alone
Others choosing to turn to stone
In the guise of things more pressing
They wonder back to where they’ve begun
Gone is the lessons learning
The lessons relived to be redone
The things I’m speaking have no meaning
To those who hide from the hermit inside
Mouthing off words that cannot be heard
The language is different, it can’t be unlearnt
Alone one seeks the voice that speaks
Of who you are and why you came this far
The changes to make to learn what’s at stake
To value the true to be the real you
To know that you have seen
Who you have always been
