Who Are You

When somebody asks you who you are
Do you tell them your name or tell them the truth
Do you share your story of how you came this far
Or offer your licence or passport as proof

Of a name you bear that others may share
It’s of no consequence by what you are called
But what you’ve learnt, what you’ve done
And how with your past you compare

What a story to tell if they were to know
Your journeys sharing would seem bizarre
But utter a name and off you go
Leaving them none the wiser as to who you are
