Would you be different?

I’d like to invite you in, what if you were God
I see fear in your eyes, your hand on the door knob
I beg of you don’t turn and run from these words
Stay a while, hear what needs to be heard

What would you do, how would you be
Would you heal the sick and set the imprisoned souls free
How would you hold your creation, this earth
Would the world have more value to you, more worth

If you couldn’t just put your head in the sand
Would you run and hide or take a stand
If “I’m only human” was lost to you
Would you be more aware, would you be more true

Without fear would you drop your defence
Would chasing the money still make any sense
Would you hold others with love or stand and judge
Would you be quick to forgive or hold a grudge

If you were a god, all powerful and mighty
Would you stop seeking power and realise you’re free
Would you stop blaming others for the things you lament
Would you no longer hide behind being insignificant

A puppy grows into a dog
What becomes of a child of God
Does this idea signify
How heavy your responsibilities lie
Does the thought leave you terrified
How much goodness and love we hide
